Corrections Policy

We aim to get every fact, figure, and calculation right. When we do not, we correct it promptly and openly.

How to report an error

Please tell us through our Contact page, including the page concerned, the passage you believe is wrong, and the correct information or source, if you have it. You do not need to include personal or financial details.

What happens next

  1. An editor reviews the report against primary sources.
  2. If an error is confirmed, we correct the page as soon as practicable.
  3. For material errors, we add a correction note to the page explaining what changed.
  4. Minor typographical errors are corrected without a note.

Updates versus corrections

Pages are also updated when facts, rates, rules, or products change. Those routine updates are not corrections, but we still aim to keep the date and context of examples clear.

This policy applies to Fiscal Primer articles, calculators, and glossary entries.
